Mechanical Designer

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of customer and internal projects. Additionally, they will be responsible for regularly offering innovative solutions to new product concepts and technical challenges.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Design custom TV Mirror and Lighted Mirror solutions using Seura standards and guidelines for domestic manufacturing.

· Completes or supports order-level BOM creation.

· Provides offshore design support.

· Execute ad hoc engineering projects related to cost savings, process improvement, risk assessment, prototyping, and/or testing.

· Assist sales, purchasing, tech support, and manufacturing personnel in problem-solving activities.

· Provides technical input on the design process for improved efficiency.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Two-year degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

· 3-5 years of mechanical design experience using solid modeling software (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc).

· Experience designing assemblies with sheet metal or electrical assemblies is desired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is largely a sedentary role.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with occasional overtime, evening, or weekend hours as required.
